On February 13th, 2019, the Gloria Dei Estates community had the honor of celebrating their 20th anniversary. This momentous date called for a momentous event! All of the residents were invited to enjoy a night of food, drinks, and entertainment.
Before dinner, residents had the pleasure of hearing the history and the origin of this community’s creation from guest speakers such as: Frank Johnson, former Board President; Vincent Dattilo, CEO of Gloria Dei; Susan Wright, President of Gloria Dei; and concluded by Sister Paula Napoli. Read More
On Friday, September 7th, 2018, Gloria Dei’s 5 Senior Independent Living Retirement Communities participated along with our Personal & Memory Care Communities for another annual Tools for Schools drive. This year, Gloria Dei had the honor of delivering these goods to Hancock Elementary in Norristown and Hon. Luis Munoz-Marin Elementary School in North Philadelphia. Read More
Every year Gloria Dei CARES Committee runs a Tools for Schools donation drive and chooses two needy schools to donate school supplies. Over the last couple of months Gloria Dei staff members and senior residents from Gloria Dei’s Independent Living Communities – The Plaza, Towers, Manor, Farms and Estates, along with Gloria Dei Personal and Memory Care at The Park, have been busy donating school supplies and raising money totaling $600 to purchase additional needed supplies! The residents of Gloria Dei Senior Communities have once again donated much needed supplies to some of the surrounding schools in the greater Philadelphia area. This year, our residents attended Spruance School in Northeast Philadelphia on Wednesday, August 24th and Benjamin Rush Elementary school in Bensalem on Monday, September 12th with the intention of contributing important classroom items, as well as some sports equipment for the kids to play with during recess. On July 26th, Gloria Dei Estates celebrated a centennial event! The community itself was not turning 100, however one of its residents was doing just that. Stanley Nanczuk, who graduated from Roman Catholic High School and who fought at Iwo Jima, celebrated 100 years on this Earth.
