On September 12, members of Gloria Dei Communities visited Thurgood Marshall Elementary and Benjamin Franklin Elementary in Philadelphia as part of our annual Tools for Schools program. Every year, two schools are selected, and residents and staff from all seven of our communities generously donate school supplies—ranging from pencils and backpacks to recess equipment. This year, four staff members and five residents delivered numerous boxes of donations. The children recited poems, danced, and read to us, and one of our residents had the chance to read to the children. The students and teachers were incredibly grateful for the generous contributions.
